SDMT Music Conference & Festival 9/9 — 9/10

The fourth annual San Diego Music Thing takes place on September 9-10, at the Lafayette Hotel in North Park. Daytime panels on everything from touring to merchandising, nighttime shows from over 100 artists in over a dozen venues. Staring at the Sun CD Release Sept 16
On Sept. 16, Lestat’s will be site of a special CD release show for Staring at the Sun Vol. 9, featuring 321 Stereo, Scott Mathiasen, Scott West, Wendy Bailey, Joey Harris and Marie Haddad. A portion of the proceeds will go to Mighty Joe Longa to help with medical expenses. Attendees will receive a free, collectable 22 track CD featuring San Diego music; including the nights performers (except Joey) and tracks from Gregory Page, Berkley Hart, Colin Clyne, Echo Revolution, SO3, Skid Roper, The Cardiac Kidz, The Very, Death On Mars, Neon Cough, The Red Fox Tails, Old Tiger.

Hillbilly Fest 2

They face a bit of competition from the Adams Avenue Street Fair, but Hillbilly Fest 2, taking place at the Del Mar Fairgroounds, has an amazing line up: Wanda Jackson, Junior Brown and Big Sandy. Plus Thee Bad Jacks, The Rocketz, Cash’d Out, The Palominos, Buzz Campbell and Hot Rod Trio. Plus a car and bike show, and MC Mojo Nixon. Jack and Ace, the new project from Bob Nanna, formerly of Braid, will have an instore appearance at M-Theory Records on September 30, 2011 @ 6PM.
