At last, we can look forward to quality in-person bluegrass music festivals. Here are some great opportunities. Father Day Grass Valley Festival Produced by the California Bluegrass Association. This venerable festival has been held annually, Covid years excepted, in Grass Valley, California and is back again for 2022. Camping, vendors, good food, and outstanding musical acts are all on the bill. To be held June 16-19 at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, Della Mae, Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper, the Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, Don Flemons, and lots more will be there performing. The annual Summergrass Festival will take place here in San Diego at the Antique Gas and Steam Engine Museum in Vista over the weekend of August 19-21. There will be a Kids Music Camp, vendors, camping, excellent food, workshops, and more. Booked so far are Danny Paisley and Southern Grass, John Moore and Friends, Fast Track, Volume Five, Phil Salazar and Kinfolk, and more.
