Dan Walsh

Dan Walsh

About Dan Walsh: Touted as one of the finest banjo players in the UK as well as being a superb singer, songwriter and guitarist, Dan Walsh is described as ‘the real deal’ (UNCUT). He now has three critically acclaimed solo albums with new album Incidents and Accidents receiving excellent reviews. As well as many tours of the UK, he also has recent successful trips to Canada, Germany, India, Norway and New Zealand to his credit. Having made his name with duo Walsh and Pound and now a member of the award winning Urban Folk Quartet, as well as guest appearances on stage and on record with the Levellers and Seth Lakeman, this unique and eclectic musician has stunned audiences across the world. Walsh’s eclectic and innovative approach has led to many exciting collaborations alongside his solo work and the UFQ including tours with Northeast concertina legend Alistair Anderson and recent work with sensational Indian sarangi player Suhail Yusuf Khan as well as Canadian country singer Meaghan Blanchard. He also retains a passion for outreach work and through the prestigious Live Music Now scheme has performed throughout the UK in hospices, hospitals, special schools and care homes. He also teaches banjo both in person and over skype.

Erin Inglish

Erin Inglish

About Erin Inglish: Inglish’s performances offer passionate lyricism, toe-tapping grooves, and striking reflections about the state of the modern world. Erin has spent several years living abroad (in India, Madagascar, Bulgaria and Serbia) — and her songwriting reflects her elation for life, creative and exploratory nature, and passion for creating positive change through community and art. In 2013, Inglish released her first solo album titled, A Melody So Sweet, and then toured — by bicycle — the entire coast of California to celebrate Earth Month as part of what would become her annual Earth*Bike*Banjo tour. Anticipating the release of a new album in early 2016, Muse, Inglish is collaborating with new-folk duo Stringtown Ambassadors for the recording project and a tour. Inglish is the organizer the annual Banjo Babes Calendar & Album — an annual collaborative project amongst lady banjo players aimed at supporting and promoting independent artists — featuring a fully-produced compilation album and a fun, silly, thematic calendar. When not out on tour, Inglish is at home in the California countryside where she writes music, teaches banjo, and is a potter and graphic artist.

San Diego Folk Heritage is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the folk arts in Southern California. For more information about this concert, please visit http://sdfolkheritage.org/events/dan-walsh/.
