5 Things You Might Not Know About Chad Cavanaugh

September 2012

Welcome to another edition of our regular blog column where we will be getting to know local artists. You may have seen them perform, you may have downloaded their albums, but now it’s time to take a closer look. Here are 5 Things You Might Not Know About Chad Cavanaugh.

1.)
I’m a veteran of the United States Army Infantry and a former sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. I’m badge number 408. There are fewer badge holders than there are Medal of Honor recipients.

2.) I semi taught myself how to play the guitar when I became clean and sober. It kept my hands occupied. My friend Mark taught me a few chords and I learned the rest on my own.

3.) I’ve been clean and sober and drug free since May 27th, 2001.

4.) I’m a gym rat, between weight lifting and basketball. It’s my favorite place to be. I love fitness and nutrition. I take my wife on gym dates weekly. (Check out Chad’s fitness & nutrition blog)

5.) I’ve seen Bigfoot.
