Hello Troubadourians, and welcome to our new blog! We will be updating this blog on a weekly basis (check here every Wednesday for a new post)! We wanted to take advantage of this online format for several reasons:
1. Everyone’s doing it. Just kidding. But not really. With so many people accessing news and information online, we know we can extend our reach via our web presence. This also makes it easy for you, the reader, to share any news & info with your friends, thus spreading support, information, and resources far & wide across San Diego and beyond.
2. While we love our printed publication, The San Diego Troubadour is limited in space. Now we have an additional avenue and to utilize for news, opinions, announcements, & events that couldn’t make it into the print edition. We are particularly looking forward to spotlighting album release parties, new open mics, etc. We will also make it a point to focus on helpful resources for musicians, such as recording studios for all budgets, songwriting workshops, & submission deadlines for local festivals.
3. We really want to get to know the music community, and we want our readers to do the same. San Diego musicians are very supportive and appreciative of one another, so this is the perfect avenue for musicians to share their experiences, stories, frustrations, etc. There are so many great artists, each with a unique perspective on life, music, and “the biz” – we want to hear about and share as many of these perspectives as possible. We’ve already collected some great information from local artists for our “5 Things You Don’t Know About Me” & “3 Albums I Can’t Live Without” features. See below for contact info if you’d like to be included in these features!
We encourage you to get involved! Let us know your ideas! What kinds of things do you want to read about? If you’d like to be featured in our blog, please send us an email – we’ll try our best to respond to all inquiries in a timely manner! Contact us by email at email@example.com.
See you next week!
